Chocolatiers of the High Winds by H.B. Kurtzwilde
A gay steampunk adventure. Follow the weekly travails of young Mayport Titus, and his intercontinental airship journey to restore the fortunes of the Titus Chocolate Company.
Chapter 32: Acclaim
The cottage taken by the Titus Company gained a reputation as a palace of unknown wonders. From it came forth Missus Thiervy, an icon of the citizenry, if a bit reticent for her station. Within dwelled the fellows of the company, creatures of mystery to the last. Mayport postponed the ceremonial welcoming of the neighbors until Costor had exhausted his curiosity about the port town, its surrounding lands, and the citizens thereof.
When their dictator of taste had at last been permanently installed, he made free with opinions on every topic. His collusion with Missus Thiervy over a guest list marked the beginning of his conquest. That steady focus on society left Thiervy and Mayport free to devise wonders and entertainments for their guests.
